The railings were designed as the Public Art Component for a new Pedestrian Overpass. The object was for the railings to thematically and visually work with the designs of the overpasses. The architectural intent (by others) was for the overpass to playfully play with angular forms. The railings referenced these architectural forms with an angular repeating pattern.
